[技巧]夜间智能定时关机

http://www.appinn.com/tip-schedule-task-for-auto-shutdown/

@appinn

Android apps can now run on your PC via BlueStacks

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-20118500-93/android-apps-can-now-run-on-your-pc-via-bluestacks/
 | Digital Media - CNET News

(Credit: Lance Whitney/CNET)
Those of you who want to check out an Android app without an Android device can now run that app on your PC thanks to a program from the folks at BlueStacks.
The software, dubbed the BlueStacks App Player, has just hit the alpha stage, meaning a test version of it is now available for anyone to download. The basic player lets you run several preloaded apps, install up to 26 others, and sync apps from an Android phone to your PC.
I installed the App Player on a PC runningWindows 7. The installation failed the first time around, but a second attempt proved successful. The app places an Android gadget in the upper right corner of your screen. Clicking on the gadget opens a menu from which you can launch any of the preloaded Android apps, including Bloomberg News, Bubble Buster, Words Free, and Drag Racing, along with six others.
The apps themselves launch in a full-screen virtualized version of the Android operating system, so they run smoothly. The only obstacle I encountered is that since the apps are designed for a touch screen device, running them on a desktop computer with keyboard and mouse was less than ideal. Using a laptop with a multitouch pad was definitely an improvement. Overall, the integration with Windows via a simple desktop gadget proved to be clean and seamless.
You can click on an option to add more apps, which requires you to log into the BlueStacks App Channels using a Facebook account. From the Channels page you can download apps that connect you to the Web sites of dozens of newspapers and news outlets, as well as a host of games, including Checkers, MineSweeper, Sudoku, and Memory Trainer.
To send apps from your phone or tablet to your PC, you'll first need to download the BlueStacks Cloud Connect App on from Google's Android Market and install it on your mobile device. Entering a unique pin number in the app then sets up the connection with your PC, allowing you to push over apps from your device.
For now the App Player supports only Windows PCs. The company is working on a Mac version but concedes that it may be a while before one is available. BlueStacks is also busy cooking up a premium version of the App Player, which as yet has no price tag, but would support such apps as Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja, and let you add an unlimited number of apps.
Speaking with CNET this past May, company CEO and co-founder Rosen Sharma, who previously was McAfee's chief technology officer, explained that he got the idea for BlueStacks from his 6-year-old daughter.
"She went to a Netbook, and she wanted the same apps on it," Sharma said. But obviously that wasn't doable. "The number of people who want something like that is very, very large--both consumer and enterprise," he added.

Canonical Releases Windows Version of Ubuntu One

http://techcrunch.com/2011/09/30/canonical-releases-windows-version-of-ubuntu-one/
 | TechCrunch

Canonical, the commercial backer behind theUbuntu Linux distribution, have been hosting a file synchronization service called Ubuntu Onefor a couple years now. A free account gets you 5GB of storage, and the client side controls have been baked into the last couple of releases of the Ubuntu distribution. It works pretty much like Dropbox or similar services, but has been — until today — Linux-only.
In an announcement late last night, Canonical has revealed that there is now a Windows client for Ubuntu One, allowing you to access all your files from either Linux or Windows computers.
We have long received feedback from Ubuntu users regarding their evolving needs to manage all their content from a single, secure place across multiple platforms and devices. We've looked at many use cases, the most common being the Ubuntu user who is using more than one device or OS. Many people have to work in Windows or Mac environments, even if they prefer to use Ubuntu as their home desktop or OS of choice. Another case is enabling more opportunities for sharing across platforms. For example families using different operating systems in one household can use Ubuntu One as their central place to store all their music, documents, photos and share them easily with each other and friends.
Ubuntu One also offers a nifty music streaming service. For $4 per month, you get 20 GB of storage and the ability to stream music files from your account to your mobile device. The Ubuntu One app is available for iOS and Android, and Android devices get the added benefit of a controllable offline cache, allowing you to listen to your cloud-stored music without requiring a network connection. Neat stuff.

http://www.webupd8.org/2011/07/virtualbox-41-released-with-gui-option.html
 ~ Web Upd8: Ubuntu / Linux blog

VirtualBox 4.1

VirtualBox 4.1 hs been released today, bringing some new GUI features like support for cloning VMs and a new wizard for copying virtual disks. Other changes:
  • Experimental support for PCI passthrough for Linux hosts
  • Enhanced wizard for creating new virtual disks
  • Raised the memory limit for 64-bit hosts to 1TB
  • Windows guests: Experimental WDDM graphics driver, supporting Windows Aero and providing Direct3D support using a cleaner approach
  • New Networking Mode UDP Tunnel: allows to interconnect VMs running on different hosts easily and transparently
  • Experimental support for SATA hard disk hotplugging available with VBoxManage

For a complete changelog, check out this page.

A bit of info on the new features so you'll know where to find them:

  • to clone a VM, simply right click it in the main VirtualBox window and select "Clone"
  • to copy a virtual disk, select File > Virtual Media Manager, right click a .vdi and select "Copy"

Install VirtualBox 4.1 in Ubuntu / Debian via repository

1. Firstly, remove VirtualBox 4.0 (if it's installed):

 sudo apt-get remove virtualbox-4.0

2. Add the VirtualBox repository and install the latest VirtualBox 4.1:

echo "deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian $(lsb_release -sc) contrib" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/virtualbox.list
wget -q http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/oracle_vbox.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install virtualbox-4.1

3. Optional: for USB 2.0 devices, VirtualBox RDP and PXE boot for Intel cards support, you'll also have to install an Extension pack which you can download from HERE.

To install VirtualBox extension pack, double clicking the extension should be enough but if that doesn't work, open VirtualBox, go to File > Preferences and on the Extensions tab, click the "add" button on the right and browse for the VirtualBox extension pack.

For other Linux distributions, Windows and Mac OSX, see the VirtualBox download page.
