The event began last year to extend the cyber shopping season for merchants and give procrastinators one last chance to order gifts before Dec. 24.
And many Canadians are last minute shoppers. According to a TD First Class Visa Holiday Shopping Survey released today, 38% of us put off our shopping because we're busy while another 11% admit we're lazy when it comes to facing the crowds.
The online promotion has nearly tripled in popularity this year from the just 250 retailers that took part in 2008.
